Undergo Physical Examination in Cuba
Olympic hurdler Dayron Robles’s unfortunate performance in the 110 hurdles semi-finals due to an old injury on his left leg, was the unfortunate piece of news for the Cuban delegation yesterday in Berlin. Cuban Olympic holder was taken immediately to his hotel while feeling frustrated of not having achieved his goal in this tournament. In addition to this, it was later confirmed that U.S. hurdler athletes were not able to prevent Cuban Olympic holder from victory. It also undeniable that both U.S. twice runner-up Terrence Trammell and Bronze medallist in Osaka David Payne, carried out a hotly disputed race, however, they both had similar racing times of (13, 15), and were surpassed by Barbadian Ryan Braithwaite with 13, 14, a record in his nation. Dayron Capetillo could not surpassed any of his hurdlers rivals during the first semi-final by being placed eight with 13, 55, which is considered the racing time number 19 among those 24 hurdlers. Cuba’s Western Team Set to Win Baseball Tournament The Western baseball team won 3 to 1 over its eastern counterpart during extra inning game at the Nelson Fernandez Park, and was near to conquer the national baseball title of the Cuban all start baseball tournament. Cuba routed Holland 13-3 on Friday and advanced to the
semifinals of the 14th U-16 AA World Youth Baseball Championship that
is underway in Taichung, Chinese Taipei. The Cuban 14-hit attack was led
by first baseman Guillermo Aviles with three hits in five at-bats, including
a homerun and a double, two RBIS and three runs; and by short stop Andy
Ibañez, with three hits in five at-bats as well, including a double,
two RBIs and two runs. Third baseman Lazaro Henandez and left fielder
Raydel Medina also homered for Right hander Elbis Martinez threw four scoreless innings and held the Dutch to only three hits while he struck out six, but the victory was credited to Yosibel Castillo, who climbed the mound in the fifth and allowed Holland’s three runs (two of them earned). After their sixth consecutive win in the tournament, the Cubans will now face Venezuela in semi-finals tomorrow. The Venezuelans beat South Korea on Friday 11-5. Americans took a hard-fought 11-8 win over host Chinese Taipei after they
were trailing
