Water Polo Master
Havana, June 11 (RHC) - An exciting water polo tournament for masters will take place from tomorrow until June 16 at the pool located at 37th Street and First Avenue in Varadero.
Teams from Havana, Matanzas, Santiago de Cuba, and a group made up of athletes from different provinces will compete in the tournament in search of glory.
Initially, the José Antonio Echeverría University Center (Cujae, for its Spanish acronym), a higher education institution specializing in engineering and architecture, was expected to participate, but its inclusion in the event was recently declined.
One of the most anticipated moments could be the attempt by Jhoen Leftont, a Guinness World Record holder, who will try to set a new record for the most touches of a ball in the water, this time adding weight to his body, which will take the challenge to another level.
Tania Coffigny, vice president for masters of the Cuban Swimming Federation and organizer of the event, highlighted the importance of this championship for the category, which is part of the country's sports development program for masters.
The competition not only promises intensity and strategy but also the possibility of witnessing an unprecedented milestone in the world of water sports.
