Cuba’s Camerata Romeu, has joined the campaign #MusicosPorCuba, launched jointly by the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Music Institute, in times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The all-female chamber orchestra, founded in 1993 by director Zenaida Romeu, released a new musical video for the tune ‘Canción de Rachel’ by composer Mario Romeu, for Enrique Pineda Barnet’s 1989 film La Bella del Alambra.

Considered Cuba’s best musical film of all time, La Bella del Alambra was granted the Goya Awards to the Best Ibero-American film in 1989.

The musical video, by renowned video maker Alejandro Reyes, features member instrumentalists of the chamber orchestra playing the beautiful tune from their respective homes, in full compliance with physical distancing measures in place on the island.
