Havana, July 20 (RHC)-- Intellectuals and analysts from around the world continue voicing their support for Cuba against destabilization plots instigated from abroad to overthrow the country’s government.

Spanish journalist Pascual Serrano, in an article entitled ‘El COVID como pretexto para atacar a Cuba’ (Covid, a pretext to attack Cuba), published on Sputnik, wrote: ‘Since the triumph of the Revolution, Cuba has had to endure constant attacks from the United States.

‘The Covid pandemic is being used now as a pretext to instigate a ‘humanitarian intervention’ to invade the country.’

Serrano stresses that curiously, those who call for humanitarian interventions in solidarity with Cuba, say nothing about the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed and maintained by the United States against Cuba and its impact on the country’s efforts to confront covid-19.

Argentinian sociologist Atilio Borón wrote on Página 12 daily: ‘What Washington has been doing is ‘genocide’ because the blockade policy, rejected almost unanimously by the international community, causes hardship and suffering to the Cuban people.’
