Alejandro García 'Virulo'

Cuban singer-songwriter and humorist Alejandro García –Virulo—is currently on a Mexican tour with his show "Crónicas de la pandemia" (Chronicles of the Pandemic), named after his latest musical production, released under EGREM label.

The present tour began on January 21st and runs through March 5th and includes performances Mexico City, Sonora, Sinaloa, Tijuana, Morelia, Cuernavaca and Cancún.

In statements to the Mexican newspaper El Universal, Virulo said this latest album deals with social and political issues as well. He explains that he strongly opposes the 243 new coercive measures adopted by the Trump Administration against Cuba amidst the Covid-19, and which the Biden Administration has left intact despite campaign promises to do otherwise.

‘It’s unfair that the world’s superpower maintains a fierce blockade against a small, poor nation that is striving to develop and produce free medication and vaccines to save human lives,’ Virulo told El Universal.

“Crónicas de la pandemia” includes ten tracks and features collaborations by Buena Fe duo and Septeto Nacional.
