Havana, February 15 (RHC)-- The work El Pabellón de los amigos (The Pavilion of Friends), by Venezuelan writer and editor Norberto Codina, based in Cuba, was presented Wednesday at the Colegio San Gerónimo in Havana, during the 31st International Book Fair.

About the volume, the director of Cubaliteraria publishing house, Yaremis Perez, told Prensa Latina that the 2021 National Publishing Prize winner narrated his personal experiences on the impact of friendship in his life, through a compilation of texts written in his extensive career.

He noted that the book suggests being written from the spaces of a hospital compound, prison or book fairs. "You have to remember that friends meet when you are sick, imprisoned or as listeners at a poetry reading," he said.

This Wednesday was also unveiled at the book festival the text Rieles.Teatro en torno a Camagüey, by theater critic and researcher Omar Valiño, which recounts the history of theater festivals in Camagüey and Havana.

This material had its first version in 2014 and the new edition incorporates excerpts from all the shows that emerged after that date until 2022, Perez added.

Such presentations are aimed at inserting these books in the cyberspace scenario, promoting literature in the virtual context and using technologies to facilitate reading, as part of the fifth edition of the Cuba Digital project, said the director of the Cubaliteraria publishing house.

Plans to publish digital books finished or in process for publication reached 131 novelties until the close of 2022, according to the Cuban Book Institute.
