Havana (RHC) - The president of INDER, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, described as an aid to the breakdown of the US blockade the donation of baseball and softball equipment made by friends from Canada.

"It is a strong blow to the blockade, and it received a great positive impact when it was announced on social networks," said the manager, in dialogue with Bill Ryan, manager of the cooperation project encouraged by people and groups in that country.

The head of the sports organization expressed to the visitor the willingness to deliver to each Cuban municipality a part of the donation, consisting of bats, balls, gloves and costumes for the practice of baseball in the minor categories, in addition to those same softball accessories for adults .

Vento Montiller stressed the importance of the solidarity gesture in special moments for the national sport, which still lives the great effervescence generated by the recently completed 59 National Series.

He also pointed out that the development in the base, for which they will be used, is one of the most present requests in the process of national consultation on Cuban baseball, waiting to take steps to achieve better international results.

During his visit to the Coliseum of the Sports City and the Santiago Changa Mederos Stadium, where he delivered part of the donation, the Canadian activist was accompanied by Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and Vice Chancellor of the Higher Institute of International Relations (Isri) .
