The Cuban delegation to the Olympics in Japan

Tokyo, July 23 (RHC)-- The Cuban delegation to the Olympics in Japan has not been infected with COVID-19, a disease that has become the main protagonist of the Olympic Games, despite the strict controls carried out in the Village to detect positive cases of Sars Cov-2.

"Since the advance team arrived on the 6th of July and the bulk of the delegation on the 16th, our athletes are healthy and ready to give their best in the events in which they participate."  This was corroborated by the deputy director of the Institute of Sports Medicine, Yamil Gutierrez Jorge.

"Our delegation is in good health in general and we are waiting for the start of each of the sports to be able to give them the joy that the people expect," he said.

As a requirement to be able to participate in this great sports festival, the athletes underwent two PCRs in Cuba and upon arrival during the first four days.  This is in addition to all the biosecurity protocols that are strictly complied with in each of the common areas.
