Cuban taekwondo family celebrates first Olympic victory

Tokyo, July 28 (RHC)-- After the Olympic victory of two-time world champion Rafael Yunier Alba Castillo, the Cuban Taekwando family celebrates in style the first Olympic medal in Tokyo 2020.

The Cuban taekwondo athelete Rafael Yunier Alba Castillo is 27 years old -- born August 12, 1993 in Santiago de Cuba -- and competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, in the men's +80 kg.

At the Pan American Games in 2015 and 2019, he won two medals.  He earned three medals at the World Taekwondo Championships between the years 2013 and 2019, and two medals at the Pan American Taekwondo Championships in the years 2016 and 2021.
