The Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB) informs that on Wednesday night athletes Alfredo Fadraga Pérez and Yosvani Ávalos Ruiz, who had left the delegation 24 hours earlier, rejoined the delegation participating in the U-23 Pan American Championship.

Havana, June 18 (RHC)-- The Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB) reports that on Wednesday night, athletes Alfredo Fadraga Pérez and Yosvani Ávalos Ruiz, who had left the delegation 24 hours earlier, rejoined the delegation participating in the U-23 Pan American Championship.

They were treated with absolute respect and consideration, without ever forgetting that they are students of the Cuban sports education system. Inquiries were made about their health, nutritional and psychological situation. The management of the delegation and the FCB exchanged with both athletes in a sincere and transparent manner.

The FCB reiterates that the suspension by the U.S. government of the agreement reached at the end of 2018 with Major League Baseball, causes regrettable events such as these, feeds the thirst of human traffickers and enemies of the Cuban Revolution, and puts the lives of young people at risk.

There are legal, professional and non-politicized mechanisms to make the legitimate desires of our baseball players to reach the MLB a reality. Only the aggressive policy of double standards applied by the U.S. government, supported by sectors of the right wing and the mafia in South Florida, prevents it.

Fadraga and Avalos will meet in the next few hours with their families in Cuba. The rest of the team will face the final phase of this event with the highest morale and commitment. Nothing and no one will prevent Cuban baseball from continuing to work in pursuit of triumphs and joys for our people.
