Havana, November 17 (ACN) -- Three Cubans were included in working commissions for the period 2022-2026 of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

According to what was published in the FIDE website, Grand Master Vivian Ramon was included as a member of the Educational Chess Commission, a front in which she has gained space since her work as leader of the Chess Studies Center (Island).

The first woman to graduate with the highest international title in Ibero-America directs the mentioned center, based in Havana, from which interesting projects have emerged.

Grand Master Reynaldo Vera remained among the members of the Coaches Commission, an area in which he has vast experience and deserved since 2007 the categorization as Senior Coach.

The list of Cubans involved in the commissions is completed by Dr. Gleibys Guasch, included in the medical commission.

A total of 15 commissions will operate, including those for athletes, rules and refereeing, events, people with disabilities, Fair Play and planning and development.

The number of members of each group varies according to the interests of each specialty, but in all cases it is essential that at least 25 percent of the members be women.

This is a condition that responds to FIDE's commitment to achieve gender equity in all its functions.

There are 111 national federations represented and eight of the 15 commissions have new presidents.
