Cuban duos in Santa Marta 2022 volleyball semifinals

Cuba's duos of Amanda Armenteros-Jennifer Rivera, and Noslen Diaz-Jorge Luis Alayo advanced to the semifinals of the women's and men's beach volleyball tournament of the First Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games of Santa Marta 2022.

Havana, November 26 (RHC)-- Cuba's duos of Amanda Armenteros-Jennifer Rivera, and Noslen Diaz-Jorge Luis Alayo advanced to the semifinals of the women's and men's beach volleyball tournament of the First Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games of Santa Marta 2022.

According to the website www.santamarta2022.com, Amanda and Jennifer defeated in the quarterfinals this Friday 2-0 (21-19 and 21-14) the Colombian pair of Beltran-Buenaños, while Diaz and Alayo overcame the Venezuelan pair of Vargas-Perez 2-0 (21-11 and 21-14).

This Saturday, the Cubans will face the Venezuelan duo of Linares-Camacho, in one of the two matches of the semifinal stage.

The same will happen with Diaz and Alayo, who will face the Salvadoran duo of Guardado-Guardado.

Amanda and Jennifer dominated undefeated Group C, with three wins without a setback, followed by the duos of El Salvador (2-1), Trinidad and Tobago (1-2) and Jamaica (0-3), a performance that guaranteed their direct presence in the quarterfinals.

Favorites Diaz and Alayo (3-0) had a similar performance, as they won section D, ahead of Mexico (2-1), St. Lucia (1-2) and St. Kitts and Nevis (0-3).

In addition to the semifinal phase matches (f and m), the bronze and gold medals will be discussed today, respectively.
