Brasilia, July12 (RHC) Former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff says that following revelations that called into question the impartiality of former judge Sergio Moro in the Lava Jato –Car Wash-- case, the trial of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva should be reviewed.

According to the former president, "the whole process regarding Lula is flawed. I'm not saying that everyone else's process is flawed too," Rousseff told journalists after visiting Lula da Silva in prison, Telesur said.

The former Brazilian president assured that the trial against Lula da Silva was a deliberate and clear attempt by the judge and prosecutors to prevent the leader of the Workers Party (PT) from running in the 2018 presidential elections.

Rousseff referred to the publication of the messages on The Intercept, suggesting that Brazil's current justice minister, Sergio Moro, who is primarily responsible for the Lava Jato case, intervened in the prosecutors' work to guide them in the investigation against Lula, which is prohibited by law.

The messages of former judge Sergio Moro are for the PT the "proof" that Lula, convicted and imprisoned for alleged corruption, was the object of a biased trial, which in the end was nothing more than a "political persecution.@
