Caracas, May 7 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said Sunday's failed raid on the South American nation's shores was a "covert operation ordered by Donald Trump personally."

In an interview with Jorge Gestoso for teleSUR, Maduro said that the U.S. president "subcontracted Silvercorp USA," a company owned by former Green Beret Jordan Goudreau, "which is very much used by Trump and Pence for different activities within the United States."

The president pointed out that the two U.S. mercenaries involved in the failed incursion are in the hands of Venezuelan justice.  "They have accepted their guilt, they have confessed, and on trial before the laws and courts of Venezuela," Maduro said, adding that both detainees "are very impressed by the good treatment they've received."

Nicolas Maduro also said that James Broward Story, currently acting chargé d'affaires of the Venezuelan Affairs Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, is also involved in this operation.  "He has his hands, feet and whole body involved in this armed incursion," Maduro said.
