Macri is charged with illegal transfers of more than 50 million Argentinean pesos. |

Buenos Aires, June 29 (RHC)-- The Argentinean federal prosecutor Ramiro González charged former President Mauricio Macri on Monday with alleged concealment of part of his assets, following a complaint filed last week by the Anti-Corruption Office (OA).

The charge refers to an alleged illegitimate operation of Macri's Blind Trust, accompanied by a series of inconsistencies in the sworn statements timely filed by the former president, and from which it appears that Macri would have transferred to himself more than 50 million pesos between 2017 and 2020.

To this infraction, associated with the crime of illicit enrichment, is added an eventual laundering of assets related to the companies Agro G S.A., and Latin Bio subscribed by Macri when he assumed the presidency and in order to disengage himself from the management of part of his own assets, transcended in the OA complaint, and with Judge María Servini in charge of the case.

Macri allegedly lied when he declared that he owned 14 percent of Agro G shares, when in fact he owned 20 percent.  At the same time, the former president also omitted to have acquired the ownership of more than 5 million preferred shares of the company, a fact that became evident when, without having previously declared his ownership, he transferred them to the Fideicomiso Ciego (Blind Trust).

According to the text of the complaint, Macri obtained the sum of 54 million 286,824 pesos "being the only partner of Agro G S.A. that withdrew dividends in the last 10 years, while the rest of the shareholders consented to such situation, which occurred both when the results of the annual fiscal years showed profits and when they represented losses."

In this sense, prosecutor González considered it pertinent to request the General Inspection of Justice the copy of different documents related to the firm Agro G (Agropecuaria del Guayquiraró), as well as to request the OA to provide Macri's Comprehensive Patrimonial Affidavit for the years 2015 and 2016.
