Caracas, September 13 (RHC)--Venezuelan Defense Minister General Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that "the false positive scenario" was predictable.  Venezuelan authorities rejected on Saturday the statements made by the president of Colombia, Ivan Duque, which they described as slanderous and a false positive, which seeks to torpedo the dialogue between Venezuelans being held in Mexico.

"We reject the slander and false accusations without foundation by Iván Duque.  It is from Colombia, the factory of mercenaries, that the region and other latitudes are destroyed," Venezuelan Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia stated on his Twitter social network account.

"It is in Colombia, the cradle of violence, from where its own people are threatened," said the head of diplomacy of the South American country.   This Saturday, forces of the National Liberation Army (ELN) attacked soldiers of the Colombian Army in a border area with Venezuela, resulting in five soldiers dead and six wounded.

The Colombian president, after condemning the attack, stated in a tweet that "this is clearly an act between ELN and FARC dissidents planned from Venezuela."

Venezuela's Foreign Minister Plasencia denied the allegation.  He commented that the failed assassination attempt against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in August 2020 was planned from Colombia, as well as the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse, last July 7, with the participation of Colombian mercenaries.

Venezuelan Minister of Defense General Vladimir Padrino López also said on the social network of micro messages that "the scenario of the false positive" was predictable.

"The next move of Duque and his gang of drug traffickers installed in the Nariño palace was so predictable that the scenario of the false positive could not be missing after his tormented attempt to torpedo the dialogue underway in Mexico," said the minister.

"The anguish grows, because the signature in Mexico between the opposition and the Bolivarian Government to face the Esequibo issue together is a strength that puts far away their pretensions to violate our sovereignty.  In any case, we are waiting here to welcome you," said Padrino López.
