Quito, July 12 (PL-RHC), -- Authorities in Ecuador have recently seized more than 110 kilos of drugs in several raids in the port city of Guayaquil, the Ministry of Interior reported.
The operations were performed between July 7 and 9 and about 15 people were arrested, most of Ecuadorian nationality, but also some from Colombia and Dominican Republic.
According to Colonel Edmundo Moncayo, seizure of drugs means that many hundreds of thousands of doses of drugs will not reach domestic markets and international consumption.
In addition to drugs, authorities also seized cell phones, several thousand dollars, cars, a firearm and ammunition.
The operations were conducted by the National Police and other law enforcement agencies.
