Caracas, November 1 (RHC) -- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro says that his acccount and that of other government officials on the social network Twitter was attacked, removing thousands of followers.

The President accused Twitter on state TV of working in conjunction with the international right wing to target the accounts.

Venezuelan government officials confirmed that more than 6000 of the president's twitter followers were suspiciously removed. The accounts of several other government officials had also been suspended.

There has been no immediate response from Twitter's press office in the U.S. city of San Francisco.
