Havana, November 18 (RHC) -- Negotiators of the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebel group announced on Sunday their decision to postpone the next round of peace talks previously scheduled for today in Havana.

A joint statement says the postponement of the talks seeks to give the parties more time to better prepare the next subject in the negotiations agenda, illicit drugs.

According to the statement the peace negotiations will resume on Thursday, November 28, ten days after the date initially set.

The Colombian goverment and the rebels have already agreed on two issues of the peace agenda, land reform and political participation, while disarmament, illicit drugs, rights of the victims and the implementation of the final peace deal are still pending resolution.
