ALBA Bloc Workers Created in Venezuela

Caracas, Jul 25 (RHC) Representatives of unions from Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and Venezuela formally constituted the Workers Block of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America (ALBA).

In a press release the Socialist Bolivarian Workers Central (CBST, in Spanish) states that around 12 million people participate in this initiative, because besides ALBA signatory countries, observer states are invited to join the bloc.

The director of the CBST, Jacobo Torres, said that the Bloc created Friday in Caracas is, first and foremost, a tool for the defense of political processes and revolutions underway in Latin America.

Secondly, he said, it facilitates to move forward in the consolidation of integration projects that were the basic inspiration of late President Hugo Chavez.
