Venezuela Strengthens Ties with Caribbean Nations

New York, July 31 (RHC) –- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez met with her counterparts from Jamaica and Antigua and Barbuda, Arnold Nikolson and Gaston Brown, respectively, as part of efforts to consolidate the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between those nations.

The meeting took place Thursday in New York, in the framework of UN Security Council meetings. There, the Venzuelan official ratified her nation's commitment to regional integration and development.

Relations between Venezuela and Caribbean states have been strengthened through the Petrocaribe energy cooperation mechanism, which seeks to promote equitable economic and social development and establish a new framework for favorable and fair trade.
