Bogotá, October 15 (PL-RHC)-- Colombian congressmen Antonio Navarro and Ivan Cepeda defended on Wednesday the participation of future demobilized insurgents of the FARC in politics after signing the peace agreement to end the internal conflict.

In my opinion they should be involved in this field as soon as they are disarmed and return to civilian scenario, stated Navarro, who recalled similar experiences during the demobilization of the M-19 group late last century.

According to Cepeda, in this important peace talks with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP), the government and the state must set up now a strategy, both in Havana as internally in the country, to avoid falling into what he called a chaos of statements.

The legislator from the Democratic Pole rejected the statements of Interior Minister Juan Fernando Cristo, on the inclusion of former combatants in the political sector in a remote period of the peace treaty section.

The FARC-EP would disagree with a clause that prevents them from doing politics in the next five to eight years, Cepeda pointed out in an interview at Canal Capital television.
