Buenos Aires, December 10 (RHC)--- In January, Argentina and Bolivia will begin the process for the construction of an international bridge linking both South American nations.
This is one of the outcomes of a meeting in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, between the host, Foreign Minister Héctor Timmerman, and his visiting Bolivian counterpart, David Choquehuanca.
Both reviewed road links between the two countries and decided to go ahead with the construction of a bridge known as Yasma in a border mountain area.
Experts will meet in January to decide particulars about the road and the bridge, to be built in very difficult terrain.
The bridge will allow for a significant increase in trade between both countries, which has had to face difficult road and rail connections.
Both Foreign Ministers reviewed plans to strengthen regional integration and common participation in international affairs as part of their membership in the Union of South American nations, the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).
They also reviewed the results of the Fifth Bilateral Commission on Drugs, the Technical Cooperation Meeting, and agreed on the excellent state of common Argentine-Bolivian relations.
