Cuba's Young Communist League Recognizes Achievements of Youth Leaders

Havana, April 4 (RHC) -- The UJC -- Young Communist League -- has recognized a group of young people and labor collectives, celebrating today its 55th anniversary and the 56th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneer Organization.

The Flag of Honor was presented at 10 work centers for their contribution to the socio-economic life of the country, while five students with outstanding merit in study and research received the José Antonio Echeverría Medal.

The youth organization decorated 14 young people for their achievements with the Abel Santamaria Medal, and a group of political leaders who organize the work of the UJC in different sectors.

The Julio Antonio Mella Order, the highest distinction of the UJC, was presented to Ledif Goya, who was awarded for his contributions in creative work, scientific research and the defense of the country.
