Luanda, February 7 (RHC) -- The vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Alicia Corredera, has begun a working visit to Angola, where she expects to meet with members of different solidarity organizations.

"This is my second visit to this country. The first one was in 2010, to attend the 3rd African Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba,” Corredera told reporters.

This time, she said, we aim to strengthen our working relations with groups and movements such as the Angolan League of Friendship and Solidarity with the Peoples and the Angola-Cuba Friendship Association.

Corredera is also slated to meet with representatives from the Angolan Committee for the release of the Cuban Five and a group of the so-called “caimaneros” -- Angolans who have studied in Cuba.

The visitor's agenda here also includes visiting sites of historic interest and meetings with Cuban residents in Angola.
