Havana, June 28 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez met Wednesday in Havana with Iranian First Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi, diplomatic sources have reported.
Morteza Sarmani is here on a working visit in his capacity as special envoy of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rohani.
During the exchange, the two sides reviewed the state of bilateral relations and voiced a mutual interest in further strengthening economic, trade and cooperation ties. Rodríguez and Sarmadi also touched on international issues of common interest.
Prior to his meeting with the top Cuban diplomat, the Iranian official was also received by his Cuban counterpart, first deputy foreign minister Marcelino Medina, with whom he reviewed issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as with minister of economy and planning Ricardo Cabrisas, whom he conveyed a message sent by Iranian president Hassan Rohani to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel.
