Havana, May 3 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez celebrated the fact that the number of recovered patients has now surpassed the number of those who were sick with COVID-19.

On his official Twitter account, Bruno Rodriguez wrote: "Let's move forward.  Let's not let our guard down," which he accompanied with the tag #LiveYWeWillWin.

Rodriguez explained that these statistics are evidence of the country's efforts to ensure health and life.
"The number of COVID-19 recoveries in Cuba to date -- (827 -- is higher than the total number of active patients at this time -- 753," the foreign minister said.

This is the first time since the first cases were reported last March 11th that more people have been cured than those infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.  The island has accumulated 53,545 samples studied, of which 1,649 are positive.
