Havana, May 11 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel said on Monday that Cuba is waiting for a response to denunciations about the machine-gunning of the island's embassy in Washington, DC, the U.S. capital.

"We cannot forget the long history of terrorism against our diplomats," Díaz-Canel wrote on his personal Twitter account.

During a virtual meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) one week ago, the head of state called on the White House for an exhaustive and rapid investigation, severe sanctions and the measures and guarantees of security of the diplomatic missions in Washington and New York at the United Nations.

The attack from outside the embassy did not cause any victims, but it did cause material damage to the facade and the interior of the building.
