Leader of Mexican Solidarity Movement with Cuba dies

Mexico City, June 14 (RHC)-- Jesus Escamilla, a prominent leader and coordinator of the Mexican Solidarity Movement with Cuba, passed away as a COVID-19 victim, after several days fighting the disease.

The renowned social fighter with a history upholding friendship between our peoples, and a great admirer of Cuba, tireless defender of the Cuban Revolution and its leader Fidel Castro, died surrounded by his loved ones at home, where he was being treated.

According to the Prensa Latina news agency, his death occurred on June 9th and surprised friends and colleagues in the solidarity movement, expressing their inconsolable sadness in a statement.

The Cuban Embassy in Mexico City, members of the Mexican solidarity movement and Cuban residents in Mexico are very moved for this irreparable loss and expressed their condolences to his family.
