Paris, May 14 (RHC) -- "The Cuban Five: Obama and the Election of Injustice" is the title of a documentary about the case of the five Cuban anti-terrorism fighters held prisoners in the United States, premiered Tuesday at the headquarters of the France-Cuba organization in Paris.

Produced by that solidarity association and directed by journalist and writer Hernando Calvo Ospina, the 12-minute short features valuable testimonies of figures involved in the struggle for the release of these men, internationally known as the Cuban Five.

For the production of the documentary, Calvo Ospina interviewed Ignacio Ramonet, former director of Le Monde Diplomatique newspaper; Bishop Jacques Gaillot; writer Maurice Lemoine, who wrote a novel about the Five's case; activist and musician Anny Arroyo, and musician Sergent Garcia.

Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez were detained in 1998 and wrongfully sentenced by a biased Miami court to long years of imprisonment.

Rene and Fernando have already returned to their homeland, after completing their unjust sentences, however their three companions are still locked up in U.S. prisons.
