UK Minister of Transport, Grant Shapps

Havana, August 28 (RHC) As of next Saturday, travelers entering the United Kingdom from Cuba will not have to comply with a mandatory self-quarantine, thanks to a decision by that country's government after analyzing the favorable situation of the COVID-19 confrontation in the Caribbean island.

According to the National News Agency, Grant Shapps, the British Minister of Transport, said on Twitter that data shows that Cuba can be added to the list of countries included in the travel corridors.

However, as with the rest of the countries included in that list, travelers should be on the lookout, because the situation can change quickly, the minister added.

“The decision to add or remove a country from the list of quarantine exemptions is made based on the Joint Biosecurity Centre's study of the prevalence of COVID-19 in each nation,” the UK minister said.
