Havana, November 4 (RHC) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero announced that Havana's José Martí International Airport is preparing to begin operations within the next few days.

During a meeting with German tour operators, the head of government stated that the resumption of activities at this air terminal, the only one that remains closed in the country, will send a message of great confidence to the world about safety on the island.

Since last October 15, all international airports in Cuba are receiving commercial flights, while Havana's is only handling humanitarian and cargo flights.

The Minister of Transport, Eduardo Rodríguez, ratified in a television appearance that all airports comply with the hygienic-sanitary measures to avoid the contagion with the Covid-19.

Likewise, all persons arriving in the country receive a free diagnostic test of the disease (PCR), which provides security to the traveler.

Cuba established a protocol for sanitary control in the aeronautical activity based on the Government and the Ministry of Public Health's indications, which included the recommendations of the working group of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the World Health Organization.

The airlines Condor, Air Transat, and Air Canada have already resumed their flights to the Caribbean nation. Others, such as the Spanish airlines Iberia and Evelop, in addition to the French Air France, announced that they would soon return to this destination.
