Havana, January  29 (RHC)-- U.N. Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, hopes that the new U.S. administration, headed by Democrat Joe Biden, will consider removing Cuba from Washington's unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism.

U.N. Spokesperson Stéphane  Dujarric said Friday that the top executive of the international organization expressed that opinion to Pedro Luis Pedroso, permanent representative of Cuba, during a meeting they held earlier this week,   Prensa Latina news agency reported.

In that sense, Pedroso has repeatedly pointed out that his nation rejects terrorist actions in any form or manifestation, particularly State terrorism against several countries,  as one of the principles of the foreign policy contained in the Constitution.

During his most recent statements before the Security Council, Pedroso offered details on the consequences for the Cuban people of terrorist attacks organized in the United States.

Last January 11, the then U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, announced the re-inclusion of Havana in the list of states sponsors of terrorism, an action aimed at hindering a possible rapprochement between the new U.S. administration and Cuba.
