Havana, May 11 (RHC)-- So far in 2021, 189 new LTE cellular radio bases have been put into operation in Cuba to continue to provide the population with greater access to the Internet and the 4G mobile telephony network.
Frank Pavón Carbonell, deputy director of the Vice-Presidency of Network Operations at the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA), reported this on Twitter.
The actions of communications workers allowed more than four million Cubans to access the Internet through cell phones in 2020, 1.7 million of them through 4G technology.
As part of the projects for this year, the digital payment of primary food basket products was established in warehouses through the Transfermóvil application. This service was already being implemented in some establishments through the EnZona platform.
