Havana, August 23 (RHC)-- Cuba is making progress in the drafting and legal implementation of the Law on Food and Nutritional Sovereignty and Security, which establishes the progressive exercise of this right, specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture said.

According to the Ministry's website, after a year of work by representatives of 22 agencies, institutions, and civil society organizations in Cuba, this legal instrument is in its second stage of circulation, conciliation, and approval process, together with its regulations.

After complying with a rigorous schedule, the preliminary draft of the Food and Nutritional Sovereignty and Security Law was presented to the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba on July 20.

This new legal norm is accompanied by the collaboration project Strengthening Policies for Sustainable Food Security in Cuba, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
