Havana, Oct 18 (RHC)-- Cuban health authorities reported 1,768 positive cases of Covid-19 --76 less than the previous day--and 22 deaths due to complications associated with the pandemic.

Since March 11, 2020, the country has registered 938,577 diagnosed cases and 8,101 fatalities, said the national epidemiology chief of the Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Durán, in his morning television briefing.

There are 7,684 active cases hospitalized, 577 less than in the previous day, a figure which is decreasing and shows an evolution towards the control of the pandemic, the doctor stressed.

The provinces with the highest number of cases were Holguin, Pinar del Rio, and Camaguey.
