Havana, October 19. (RHC).-- Cuban Vicepresident Marino Murillo urged the Food and Services sector to play an ever increasing role in the reactivation of positive economic transformations in which the nation is currently embarked.

Murillo, who is also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, was a keynote speaker at the closure of the Fourth Convention of the Association of Chefs of the Republic of Cuba, which reviewed the programme of improvement of gastronomic services in the nation as called for by the Cuban Government.

Much of the gastronomic services in Cuba are now in the hands of private and cooperative providers, the Cuban leader said, calling on them to follow the good service guidelines installed by the official institutions that lead this important sector of the national economy.

No matter where we work, whether in a Government owned or a privately operated restaurant  or cafeteria, the Cuban official said, the key is to provide an excellent service of top quality to the customers and ensure their satisfaction.

In the hands of private providers lie now many of the gastronomic services to the increasing flow of tourists visiting the country, and they should be provided with top service, both in attention and food quality, the Cuban leader told the Congress of Cuban Chefs.

He finally recalled that the excellency of Cuban cuisine lies in the hands of the Cuban Chefs Association and urged them to continue the constant improvement of quality and services as the best keys to success.
