Díaz-Canel meets with Iranian vice-president

Managua, January 11 (RHC)--Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a meeting on Monday with the vice president for economic affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohsen Rezaei, in the context of the presidential inauguration ceremony in Nicaragua.

The working meeting was an opportunity to review the positive state of political relations between the two countries, which for decades have suffered the economic sanctions imposed by the United States, intensified in times of pandemic.

Díaz-Canel and Rezaei took advantage of the occasion to pronounce themselves in favor of further development and deepen economic, commercial, and cooperation ties, especially in areas such as health and the medical-pharmaceutical industry.

The Cuban leader sent special greetings to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Iranian President, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, reported the CUBAMINREX website.
