Cuba reports 2,685 new COVID-19 cases, one death

Havana, January 11 (RHC)-- The SARS-CoV-2 virus left 2685 infections in Cuba this Monday, according to the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap). The figure represents an increase of 166 compared to the previous day. It also reported the death of a woman in Villa Clara.

 

The only victim of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, whose age was between 70 and 79 years, represents the 8330th fatality caused by the pandemic on the island, where the lethality rate is 0.85%.

 

All provinces identified cases, and 11 registered more than a hundred: Camagüey (384), Villa Clara (357), and Matanzas (220) had the highest number of cases.

 

The Special Municipality of Isla de la Juventud continues to increase the number of infections, with 89 cases reported during the day.
