Havana, February 10 (RHC)-- The Higher Education and COVID-19 forum will open Thursday with debates of the International University Congress 2022, held this week in Cuba with an agenda focused on sustainable development and inclusion.  As part of the activity, the rector of the University of Havana, Miriam Nicado García, will give a lecture on the strategic role of higher education institutions in the fight against the pandemic.

The University of Havana, the oldest university in the country, was recognized for supporting with its experts the management of the disease, while students played a leading role in production and other tasks of impact on the community.  Other topics on panels at the event will include universities as social actors in the fight against the health emergency, the role of scientific research and innovation, and partnerships for sustainable development.

Universidad 2022, which will end tomorrow, Friday, has a scientific program that works in person and virtually, with the participation of delegates from some thirty countries.
