Havana, February 14 (RHC)-- As of this Monday, the digital certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 and the CuVac19 application for its verification and validation are available on the Cuban Public Health Ministry website.

This document does not replace the official vaccination card and is provided free of charge.

Karel Barthelemy Aguilar, director of Informatics and Communications of the Ministry, said that it would be another option with the characteristic of being "digital, verifiable and secure."

The certificates that will be issued in the system have a QR code, personal identification, and vaccination data and comply with the standards adopted by the European Union and the recommendations published by the World Health Organization.

Barthelemy pointed out that, so far, this service responds to the Cuban vaccination scheme as an expression of the immunization strategy on the island. However, any foreigner vaccinated on the island will also obtain a digital certificate.
