Panama City, Jun 16 (RHC)-- Cuba and Panama concluded their 6th Round of Migration Talks by signing records of proceedings and announcing the next talk for 2023.

Panamanian Deputy Foreign Minister Marta Elida Gordón and his Cuban counterpart Elio Rodríguez signed the document and praised the mutual willingness to cooperate.

In a brotherly scenario, both sides agreed to work on legal document updating and implementing a new mechanism for exchanging migratory alerts and information.

During the meeting, Panamanian and Cuban authorities also reaffirmed bilateral commitment to collaborate and implement joint actions for regular, orderly, and safe migration, cracking down on human trafficking and illegal migrant smuggling.

In these talks, as in previous meetings, Mr. Rodríguez thanked Panama for its stance at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) by adding its support vote to a resolution condemning the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than 60 years.
