Havana, July 10 (RHC)-- The Global Movement Against the Blockade (NEMO) denounced this Sunday in the U.S. Washington's "lies and slander" against Cuba, and rejected the recent sanctions against 28 Cuban officials.

"That is an act that violates international conventions, besides being useless and absurd," said José Oro, vice-president of that platform in a statement sent to Prensa Latina news agency.

The text considered that these days there is an "avalanche of falsehoods" on the one-year anniversary of the events of July 11, 2021, when riots occurred in several points of Cuba that attempted against the constitutional order and the stability of the State.

"Cuban justice has been exemplary, as befits a socialist state of law," said Oro in reference to those who received sentences for committing acts of vandalism, destruction of public or private property, aggressions against people, and other crimes.

Likewise, he condemned the "criminal conspiracy" of those who intend to create chaos in Cuba with a view to provoke a confrontation on the island by trying to revive what happened in July 2021. The Cuban people will once again defeat the sellouts," he said.

He also criticized the inclusion of Cuba in the List of Countries Promoting Terrorism, "something irrational and totally incomprehensible" and declared that NEMO will remain firm in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade that for more than six decades has been trying to suffocate Cubans.
