Venezuelan President receives Cuban Deputy Prime Minister

Havana, August 26 (RHC) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro held a meeting in Caracas on Friday with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Alejandro Gil, which confirmed the deep relations of friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

According to the website of the Cuban Presidency, the meeting took place as part of the working visit that the Minister of Economy and Planning has been making to the Bolivarian nation since August 24.

During his stay in the Venezuelan capital, Gil also met with Vice President Delcy Rodriguez to review the progress of bilateral relations, exchanged with Cuban embassy officials, and shared with the staff of the 'Salvador Allende Integral Diagnostic Center.

Both countries have an extensive cooperation exchange in different sectors, including health, economy, education, sports, communication, food, science, and energy.

The Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement was established in October 2000 at the initiative of Commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez under the principles of solidarity, brotherhood, and complementarity.
