Cuban President calls for the globalization of solidarity and collaboration

Havana, Oct 19 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated Tuesday the need to globalize solidarity, in an increasingly less equitable world with enormous challenges.

In his Twitter account, the dignitary pointed out that "we must continue globalizing solidarity and collaboration; we cannot lose the orientation towards that better world."

He added that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), "always defended that it was possible."

Díaz-Canel made the remarks at the inauguration, the day before in Havana, of the IV International Convention 'Cuba-Health 2022', which includes the XV Health for All Trade Fair, the Third Scientific Publishers Fair, the First International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair, and the II Foreign Investment Forum.

The event provides a framework for reflecting on the social, health, and economic impact of Covid-19 on an international scale, climate change and its health implications, and emerging and re-emerging diseases.

On the opening day, Díaz-Canel gave the keynote lecture "Government Management System based on Science and Innovation: health implications", in which he expressed Cuba's willingness to modestly share ideas on the strategic actions with which the island faced the pandemic, among other relevant aspects.
