Cuba regrets deaths from a stampede in South Korea

Havana, Oct 31 (RHC) On Monday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry regretted the loss of human lives and injuries caused by a stampede on Saturday in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea.

 

 

The communication from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) extends its condolences to the people and government of that Asian country, as well as to the families and relatives of the victims, who number at least 153 dead and more than a hundred injured.

 

 

According to the Prensa Latina news agency, this is the worst incident of its kind in the history of South Korea and occurred when a large crowd was in the area participating in Halloween celebrations.

 

 

South Korean President, Yoon Suk-yeol, declared national mourning after the events and assured that one of the main priorities of his government will be to adopt measures to avoid such accidents in the future. (Source: ACN)
