U.S. Congressmen conclude visit to Cuba

Washington, Nov 24 (RHC) A bipartisan delegation of U.S. congressmen concluded a four-day visit to Cuba, an official communiqué confirmed.

Democratic Representatives Salud Carbajal (California) and Jahana Hayes (Connecticut), and Republican Jim Baird (Indiana) traveled to Havana as members of the U.S. House of Representatives and its Agriculture Committee, the statement said.

The visit included meetings with Cuban farmers, agribusiness operators, and local officials to discuss the current state of agriculture on the island, the text detailed.

The members of the Agriculture Committee of the House of Representatives held meetings with the Vice President of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of the Agrifood Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament).

According to the press release, published on Carbajal's web page, in addition to agriculture, the delegation was interested in topics such as "human rights, migration, and consular issues".
