The governments of Cuba and Belarus confirm the strengthening of their bilateral relations

Minsk, Dec 2 (RHC) The governments of Cuba and Belarus confirmed Friday the strengthening of their bilateral relations during the visit to that nation of the president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, Esteban Lazo.

"The visit takes place in a process of dynamism and increased ties between the two governments in areas such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and education, among others," said the Cuban ambassador to Belarus, Santiago Perez.

According to the diplomat, the Belarusian Ministry of Health registered the Cuban Soberana Plus and Soberana 2 vaccines, which were included in the vaccination program in this country.

He also said that the Belarusians have expressed their interest in transferring production technology to the Caribbean nation and entering the Latin American market in the future.

"Some 11 scientists from the Belarusian Academy of Sciences are in Cuba and teaching links are being established between health and biotechnology specialists," said the ambassador.

According to Perez, also in the transport sphere, a strategy is being considered for the creation of services for the restoration of spare parts that will also benefit the area of agriculture with the repair of Belarusian tractors.

On November 30, Natalia Kochanova, speaker of the Council of the Republic (upper house of parliament), praised the "good and friendly relations between Belarus and Cuba, which have withstood the test of time", Belta media reported.

From December 2 to 4, Esteban Lazo will visit the Belarusian capital after he meets with Russian political leaders and parliamentarians (Source: Prensa Latina).
