Havana, Feb 16 (RHC) Through his Twitter account, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled that on this date in 1959, a few weeks after the triumph of the armed struggle, the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro became prime minister.

Fidel Castro took office as Prime Minister of the Revolutionary Government in a ceremony at the then Presidential Palace (today Museum of the Revolution), which was broadcast on radio and television.

At that time he said that the Revolution would have to face many obstacles ahead and although it would not be able to do things perfectly, it would be permanent to rectify everything in which it was not correct.

Likewise, he pointed out that "what the Revolution will never do is to tolerate a denial of the principles for which we have been fighting". (Source: PL)
