Havana, Feb 19 (RHC) After six hours of continuous work, the National Electric System (SEN), affected by human error that cut service to a large portion of the Cuban territory, has been restored.

According to the technical director of the Electrical Union, Lazaro Guerra, the SEN was reconnected after affected power plants resumed operation. This led to the re-establishment of the service from the province of Matanzas (about 100 kilometers east of Havana) to Guantanamo (East).

The specialist explained that in the event, the microsystems installed throughout the country worked, which made it possible to maintain service to vital centers and a percentage of the population.

The incident that occurred on Saturday morning, as a result of a human error, caused the 220 Kv stations in Matanzas to lose power and cut the supply of this vital service in several Cuban provinces. (Source: PL)
